The Botanics exhibition is now up and running!
It is open daily in the Education Centre from 10am-4pm until and including Sunday 17th July.

The residency is nearing its close. An exhibition to share the fruit of this year’s research and making will run from 10th to 17th July in the Botanic’s Education Centre. This is part of Dundee Live Public Art and Performance Festival, a city-wide celebration of Dundee as a city of culture and creativity. There will be an artist talk and rice picnic on Sunday 17th July 2-4pm.
There will be no open studio on the first Thursday in June. Instead I will be opening the studio doors on Thursday 16th June from 12 to 4.30pm as part of the week-long Dundee Botanic Gardens 4oth Anniversary celebrations.
From September 2010 to September 2011 Sarah Gittins will be Artist in Residence, for two days each week, in the Dundee Botanic Gardens: www.dundee.ac.uk/botanic. Sarah will be making work that explores the story of plants as food, with particular reference to contemporary and future challenges relating to food sovereignty and food security. This residency is part of D-AiR’s (Dundee Artists in Residence) year-long programme of arts activities and events taking place throughout the city: www.d-air.org
During the course of this residency Sarah Gittins will be making work within the Gardens and will have an ‘open studio’ on the first Thursday of every month, from 12-4pm. Visitors are invited to come along to these sessions for conversation and to see work in progress. This blog will also be regularly updated with artwork, research and related discoveries, so please keep looking and keep in touch!
